Sometimes you just need a change. Sometimes you’re skint. So a free haircut is needed, last night I chopped about 4” off my hair. Snip snip lol! It’s now just at my shoulders, so not too short. To be fair, I did a pretty good job. If I wear it wavy/curled you’ll never know it wasn’t a professional who did it. Although next time I’m at the hairdressers, I will have to ‘fess up!
My head feels so much lighter today and my split ends are all gone. Yay!
Have you ever cut your own hair?
Or attempted something you should leave to the pros?
Let me know your success/disaster stories.
I think that a change can be as good as a rest, and a new hair style can be a boost for confidence. Really feel good. Now I just need somewhere to go and show it off, lol.
It’s the little things in life that boost us, and that links straight in to self care. Now I am not suggesting to look after yourself you should just grab the scissors and lob off chunks of your hair. But I do think if you’re thinking about something and it feels good, Go For It.
Do things just for you, be that:
A face mask,
Cooking your favourite meal (gourmet or not),
A nice walk on a crisp day,
Colouring or another craft,
Spending time with loved ones,
Cuddles with your pet,
Watching a favourite movie or going to the cinema,
Or whatever else you can dream up.
In our busy lives it can be so easy to forget to do things solely for ourselves, being a little selfish can reap rewards and keep you strong and resilient. We cannot always put others first, even though for me that’s my default mode.
Let me know your fav self care things, I’m always looking for inspo!
